This strategic union marks a major milestone in cooperative support for farming and crofting enterprises, securing the provision of machinery ring services for the long term across a substantial part of the country.<\/p>\n<p>The combined organisation will trade under the name Ringlink (Scotland) Ltd, bringing together the collective strength of more than 4,000 members and a combined annual turnover in excess of \u00a3100 million. The expanded cooperative will continue to serve a vast geography\u2014from North-East and Central Scotland to the Highlands and Islands, including Sutherland, Skye and Argyll\u2014while retaining its local focus and trusted relationships.<\/p>\n<p>Under the merger agreement:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two directors from HBS will join the board of the merged organisation<\/li>\n<li>Ringlink Managing Director Graham Bruce will oversee overall operations.<\/li>\n<li>The HBS team will continue to manage day-to-day operations from the Tore office, maintaining local service delivery and knowledge.<\/li>\n<li>All current Ringlink offices\u2014including Laurencekirk, Cupar, Coupar Angus, Oldmeldrum and Elgin\u2014will remain open and operational.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The merger has been warmly welcomed by members of both cooperatives, with formal approval of members secured following Special General Meetings of HBS Ring on 24<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;June and the 11th July.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis merger builds on the shared values and close working relationship between our two organisations,\u201d said James Porter, Chairman of Ringlink Scotland Ltd. \u201cBy combining resources, skills, and infrastructure, we\u2019re creating a stronger, more agile and efficient business for our members across Scotland.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anne Rae MacDonald, Chair of HBS, added: \u201cThe business world has changed markedly over recent times and as a co-operative we must evolve to ensure we continue to deliver for our members. In particular, Nina and Graham are to be commended on the substantial work undertaken in enabling the two businesses to come together, and so enhancing the strength of the collective membership whilst retaining the local knowledge and services members value.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The merged cooperative will enhance its offering in labour services, training and commodity supply, including fuel, feed, fertiliser, electricity and straw. Both organisations share a long-standing commitment to helping reduce farm costs, improve resilience, and foster innovation across Scotland\u2019s rural economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a merger for growth,\u201d said Graham Bruce. \u201cTogether, we\u2019ll expand our labour pools, support more rural jobs, and help equip Scotland\u2019s agricultural industry with the skills it needs for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m thrilled the merger is over the line,\u201d said Nina Clancy, Interim Manager at HBS. \u201cHuge thanks go to our members and directors for their backing, and to Graham Bruce and the Ringlink team, who\u2019ve worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make it happen.
